ADRIAN MOLE VS THIRTEEN
I think that both characters have a dramatic adolescence. Maybe Adrian, the main character of the book that we’ve read in class, is more responsible and more mature because he’s always the same person, and he has got always the same personality. Tracy is an irresponsible girls because she leaves her true friends and goes out with other people who are very problematic for her, like Evie Zamora and her friends.
The characters are similar because Tracy’s parents are divorced, and Adrian’s parents, too; because Adrian’s best friend (Nigel) is the girl that he loves (Pandora’s) boyfriend, and Tracy’s “best friend” (Evie) kisses Tracy’s boyfriend, called Javi.
Adrian Mole is worried about his spots and the size of his “thing”, and Tracy at the beginning of the film isn’t worried about anything, but then she wants to improve her appearance and she doesn’t realize she’s becoming a worse person.
Adrian’s book has a happy ending but the film doesn’t because Tracy wants to dies, and she is like a crazy person at the end of the film.
