Final avaluation of 1st batxillerat

I think that I have improved a lot with regard to the beginning of the course. Now, I know more vocabulary, I can talk about more matters than before and I understand the verb tenses better and I know when and how I have to use them.
Now, my writings are longer, the vocabulary is richer and I think that they are more understandable than the writings that I made last year.
The oral presentations have helped us in many aspects, in general to don’t be shy in front of our partners and to improve our pronunciation. In my case, in my last oral presentation I was calmer than in the two others.
I think that reading three books has helped me to learn different vocabulary that the vocabulary that we use at class, and in the reader comprehension.
–I’m happy to have read these three books, because they were very interesting, specially the last one the, one that I chose: David Copperfield.
I had never done any oral exam until the second term, and I think that I did it very well. Furthermore, doing this kind of exams help us to improve the speech and the pronunciation, and these are important things.

I think that the activity which best shows my improvement, are the redactions of the “your-say part” of my blog and the free writings, because they are activities and topics that we choose. And also I think that is easier talk abut a personal topic.
I have improved also in the listening, and that’s an interesting thing because be able to understand someone when is talking English is as important as talk or write in English.

The activities with which I have improved are in general, all the activities of my blog. These are redactions, reflections, valuations, opinion essays, etc. With these activities I have learned vocabulary, verb tenses, linking words and how to use all these things. With this kind of redactions I have developed the redaction’s ability. I have also learned to good use the dictionary and to translate some Spanish expressions without doing a literal translation.
Apart from my blog activities, as I have said before, reading books has helped me a lot. And also, the oral presentations: last year I wasn’t able to find a lot of information of a topic; then, chose it; make a PowerPoint and finally, be able to explain the information to the rest of the class.

Owing to the activities that haven’t helped me to improve, I think that there isn’t any activity with which I haven’t learned English this year. All the things that we have done in class were useful, including the separate activities in the language room. Even though the simplest thing that we have done this year, for example listen other presentations, it’s a thing that has helped us to improve, in this case, the oral comprehension.

Lastly, I’ll say that next year I would do a blog too. The blog, it’s an activity that has been very useful for us, but the most important is that I have enjoyed doing it because we have had approximately three months to do it, and this means that we have had enough time to do all the activities that we had to include on it.
When you have got time to do something, it becomes better because then, you can enjoy doing it without thinking of the time. Apart from it, the activities and the posts which were on our blogs are “funny”, or in other words, they are things that in someway, we have chosen to do, for example on the free writing part I have made funny redactions with which I have been entertained (Dancing is my remedy, the song Hey, soul sister, the music I love…)
In conclusion, the blog is the best thing that we have done this year in the subject of English, because it can help us to take a better mark, and also it’s an activity which needs creativity, a quality which I have.
